We always seem to be too late getting into town to go to an actual distillery so am always happy to find a great selection of bourbon at a restaurant along with a knowledgeable bartender. Luckily we found both at Down One. It was also happy hour so great specials, too. The menu looks great as well, though we didn't eat any this time. The location is below street level so could be a bit difficult to find......

It's been a hot minute since I was last at Down One, which in my opinion is a bit of a hidden treasure downtown. Since the seating is below street level it can be easily overlooked. But don't sleep on this spot! A group of girls and I went here before seeing a play at Actors Theatre and had such a wonderful time. We got a table on the patio, and our server was very prompt, getting us what we needed considering we had a show to make. And the star of the meal was the Smothered Nachos, with pork or beef (we chose beef), queso, cilantro crema and pico de gallo. I would get these as my entree. They were that good and that filling. And second to the nachos was the awesome Old Fashioned I enjoyed. As you could imagine, Down One knows a thing or two about bourbon. This definitely help set the mood for a fun night. Looking forward to coming back!

Ate here tonight with family and friends. The tacos were very good, but service was spotty at best. The restaurant was also very loud. Just be aware if planning to eat here.

Nice place for food and drinks. Went with a group of friends. The service was good for as busy as they were. The menu was kinda Tex-Mex. We enjoyed the beef nachos, Mexican corn, shrimp taco and a side of mac and cheese. I would return.
